Paul Leary is actually my 3rd cousin. I think it would be really cool to meet him, but have not made the attempt yet, even though we live in the same town. I love the (ex-) band. Maybe I will finally make contact this year.
I met him at Austin City Limits Music Festival. He was shirtless and all grungy with two very young looking ladies all over him. He had a dirty pink bandana around his head and was much shorter than I though he would be in real life. Still really, really hot, though.
I was at UT choral auditions and he walked in. For real. Said he wanted to audition and then walked out. People in the room said, “That guy looked a LOT like MC Hammer!” We debated about it for a while, until an authoritative lady walked past and said, “That was MC Hammer.” Turns out he was with his daughter getting a tour of campus.
